Comments

ODOE encourages the public to comment about Idaho Power’s proposed project. The energy facility siting process has several public participation opportunities, and ODOE will notify the public of these opportunities each step of the way.

The initial public comment period on Idaho Power’s 2010 Notice of Intent to Submit an Application for Site Certificate (NOI) concluded on September 27, 2010. ODOE and the federal agencies held a joint comment period for their separate review processes and co-hosted public meetings about the project in summer 2010.

Idaho Power has indicated that it does not expect to submit a preliminary site certificate application until summer 2010. The next official public comment period will be when Idaho Power’s Application for Site Certificate is deemed complete by ODOE. ODOE will notify the public about this and other opportunities to participate in the state siting process.

When submitting a comment to ODOE, please make it as specific as possible and relate to the EFSC’s siting standards.

Fall 2008 Public Information Meetings and Comment Period

ODOE reviewed the comments received during the 2008 public information period to better understand the public’s concerns about the project, which were summarized in the 2009 Project Order. However because Idaho Power submitted a new NOI in 2010 along with a new proposed route the comments may no longer be applicable. For this reason, ODOE requested the public submit new comments on Idaho Power’s 2010 proposal, and is preparing a new Project Order that will replace the one previously issued.
